What’s shaking at matchFWD? New features, new product, 1 mascot and many new matches.

You know what’s the coolest thing about building a social recruiting product? The emails you receive from people who found a job through their contacts and meeting hiring managers who just hired through your product. We are miles away from cracking it, but these little steps n the right direction and the feedback we’re getting is way enough to keep going.

And that’s all because you, our users, “pay it forward” by sharing job opportunities, so THANK YOU! We’re welcoming a bunch of new users, adding a few features you asked for and having a great time reading emails from people who found a better job or a new employee.

Meet Georgette

The time has finally come to introduce you to our mascot, the lovely Georgette. She’s now the queen of our super-parallax-interactive 404 page. We hope you won’t see this page too often but we’ll make sure you see Georgette more and more. She’s actually just about to start her role as matchFWD Campaign Manager, helping you find a job or your next hire. Click here to see her in action.

Search contacts by keywords

Sometimes you want to quickly search your contacts to reshare a job opportunity based on a keyword. We’ll we’ve started indexing all profiles with a list of 30 000 keywords.

We’ve just added notifications

It’s now much easier tofind what’s important: jobs and availabilities being shared with you, who applied, who asked you to recommend them for a job, etc.. No more looking through your emails to find the link to the job that was shared with you. None yet? Wait a little ;-)

Find jobs tweeted by your people you follow

We like to build stuff and we wanted a new toy. HoneyPot scans your Twitter stream to find jobs tweeted by people you follow. It’s in alpha mode but totally usable. We’ll see if we integrate it with matchFWD.

Better and Faster Connector Suggestions

When you visit a job opportunity, we show you two types of suggestions: possible candidates and “connectors” ( We look at how often they’ve reshared opportunities, what types they’ve reshared, who they know, and the size of their network.) “Connectors” suggestions have a little ‘C’ icon next to them. They are now much better and much faster.

So what’s next? Well we found out that many more people that we expected are actually looking for better job opportunities, so we’ll be rolling out an updated list of filters for the activity stream and a “Jobs at Your Friend’s Company” feature to offer them a better experience. We are also starting to find very social sites outside of matchFWD to partner with and help their users know about great jobs and help our users reach out to very targeted talent communities. So if you run a Python Toronto group or Austin Community Managers group, get in touch with us. (partners [at] matchfwd.com)
